Simone: Up and down. Been busy with work.

Charles: Very happy and having a good time. The team that is supporting me is great.

Geraldine: It’s been really good. Charles is telling me when he doesn’t need me to be around.

Olcay: Feeling good, doing more and just attended a meeting.

Ray: Said he’s not too bad and he’s been out and about in the good weather – although now it’s cold again. He asked who watched the concert for Ukraine.

Kweku: Been busy with VoiceAbility

Kieran: FeelingOkand optimistic about getting the 3 monthly injections back on track.

Sarah: Feeling ok and happy to see everyone.

Andrew and Jenny went through the topics that people said they had wanted to talkjabout.

There are also a number of dates that need to be confirmed for guest speakers.

Ian McCreath to come back and ask the remaining questions from our list.

James Sanderson to come back and spend more time answering our questions.

Neil Crowther to come back and talk about Social Care Futures

Rosie and Sophie to come to the group to talk about attending meeting with the Law Society.

Being safe and free testing.

Jenny read through the guidance that came out the day before.

We discussed some of the areas that weren’t clear.

Andrew said he would ask questions in the NHS Learning Disability webinar later.

Questions:

  •   Willpeopleinpriority level category 6 get free testing?

  •   Will people in day centres get free testing?

  •   Willpeoplewhohave free prescription because of a health condition get free testing?

  •   Willpeopleonbenefits get free testing?

  •   If you are eligible where do you get them from?

  •   How much will it cost?

    Simone said she doesn’t understand the testing mentality as you have to leave the house to get the tests.

    Kweku said it should be free for everyone.

Check-in Andrew asked how everyone was feeling. Everyone shared how they were feeling and their news. 1 Firielle: told us about her acting work. She finished her tour with the play Milk and is now doing a performance with Dark Horse. They are currently touring. Russell: said he had just been to a face-to-face speaking up meeting, which was really good. He also told us that Joanne won the Derek Russell Award for Outstanding Leadership at the North West Self |Advocate’s conference. Peter: said he has been well. I tried to respond to a Patient Citizen Exchange blog by Laura Greene today. I said: Hello Laura. Welcome - and my admiration? for you "single-handedly representing the entire health voluntary sector and 1000+ PCX membership..." My first question has to be: what is the composition of the Strategic Advisory Board? And my second question: what proportion of service users to professionals is there on that Board? There are indeed millions of impatient citizens out there. They are called Service Users (primarily because 'Patient" carries the labels 'One that has things done to her/him'; 'One that is subservient to the "We know what is best for you" approach'; 'One that is at the wrong end of an imbalance of power.' etc). The Americans prefer the term 'consumers', but whatever, we should avoid the term with the negative connotations. I was listening to the 5 Live debate this morning on the Strictly Come Dancing row about whether
