Ancestry

Children of Ann and John Jones   To show why so many of us in and around Llandudno are to some degree related to each other! This is just a summary for others to build on.   Evan Jones b 1859 at Pen y Gaer, Llanwyddelan. “ Evan emigrated to America, I can vaguely remember him coming to visit us when I was small, he lived in Pittsburg, and married a girl named Ellen.” (Rose's Journal). In 1871, Evan was living with his M&F on Lloyds Passage, Welshpool. He returned to Wales and is down on the 1901 census, aged 41 and living, with his wife, Ellen, and children at 3 Pentyrch, Llanfair Caereinion. Children: (1901) John; David Richard and Thomas Evan. Hilda Mcsorley's Ancestry tree says he and Ellen were married on 30 th June 1883 at Conway and he died about 1903 in Llandudno.   Jack Jones b 1861 in Welshpool. “Jack was, in my Mother's words, a "bad boy". When quite young he rode a horse till it collapsed, and earned the nickname "Jack Turpin"

People First Support and Action Group 24/02/21

People with learning disabilities – COVID-19 Support and Action Group Wednesday 24th February 2021 1. Present Chris Firielle Phil Peter Eve Kieran Joanne Simone Gary Sarah 2. Introductions Chris welcomed everyone to the meeting. Andrew, Jenny and Joanne were unable to make the meeting this week. Other apologies included Gordon and Kweku. 3. Discussion We spoke about the announcement about https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-56181154 Everyone on the GP priority register for people with learning disabilities. 1 We watched Jo Whiley’s video and quoted some tweets where most of the credit for the decision was being given to Jo Whiley and Mencap. While we appreciated the profile raising others do, Jo Whiley had said that people with learning disabilities couldn’t fight for themselves. A tweet was sent to share our Covid-19 statement to show that we were able to speak up and fight for ourselves. COVID’s Saba Salman interviewed Andrew for the article she pub
